Felicity hadn’t hesitated one second when Iris had called, wanting to meet up. While she knew how it felt when Oliver was hurt or in danger, she couldn’t imagine what the other woman was going through with her fiance lost in the speedforce - and she would do anything she possibly could to help, even if that was just lending a listening ear.

Truthfully, Felicity felt guilty that she hadn’t already been to Central City to visit the team in the wake of Barry’s disappearance and offer any assistance she could provide. She considered him a close friend - who had once been something more - and had it not been for Prometheus, she likely would have been at Star City right now, working every outlet that she could to bring him back.

On the other hand, she was still a bit of an outsider to the crew at S.T.A.R. Labs, and was cautious about intruding on an area where she wasn’t an expert. With Iris reaching out, it seemed like an invitation to help was inevitable, which came as something of a relief to Felicity.

Felicity was so anticipating the opportunity - and even the future potential to get away from Star City for awhile, that she was fairly running when she reached the mayor’s office doors. Suddenly she was feeling a bit out of place. She hadn’t been in the actual mayor’s office during the day for several weeks at least. Not that she didn’t support Oliver as leader of Star City - because she obviously did - but because she was trying to put more distance between her personal life and her professional life.

Actually, she was trying hard to work out what to do with her professional life (vigilante IT support didn’t do much for her resume) while avoiding just about everything related to the personal. Except for helping her friends when they needed it. Half an hour early, she realized she should have at least stopped to get coffee or some caffeine solution on the way, so she would have had something to pretend to do while she waited. Instead, she took a seat in one of the open foyer chairs and waited for Iris to arrive.
